The Law of Relativity

December 30, 2007

This law tells us that everything in our material world is only made real by its relationship to something else. “Hot” only exists because we compare it to “cold.” In the same way, “good” only exists in comparison to “bad.”

In fact, everything in life “just is” unless and until we compare it to something else. Nothing in life has any intrinsic meaning, except the meaning we give it. Another way to state this Super Law is:

Relationships are everything, and everything is due to relationships.

How you choose to compare yourself and your success either pulls you up or holds you down. If you choose to pull yourself up by letting the Law of Relativity help you find the good in life, then you must succeed.

Dream Manifesto

by Thomas Herold

At one point in your life, you may ask yourself why other people are so successful with money when you’re not. Depending on how closely you look, you will have several answers. Do these sound familiar?

* They’re just luckier than I am

* They have a better education than I do

* They were born into a rich family

* They are white and have better opportunities than I do

* They already had money to start a business

* They already had money to invest in real estate

* They are smarter than I am

* They are younger than I am

* They look better than I do

The list probably continues to fill several pages. Money is the topic that generates the most beliefs, followed by the topic of relationship. I once led a seminar where we investigated people’s beliefs about money. After only 30 minutes we came up with 3 full pages!

Beliefs – Blueprint of Your Reality

You may not know this yet, but your beliefs are the blueprint of your reality. If you knew that, would you deliberately create one from the list above? Probably not, because these beliefs are not supportive at all. These beliefs create a reality that leaves you ‘playing’ the victim, and on top of it, keeps you right where you are. You are not improving your life one bit.

Why are we creating these beliefs in the first place, when we know that they are not constructive at all? The answer lies in the nature of our consciousness. Most of us were told that there is a universe out there and this universe shapes our reality. It is the basic belief that life happens to us. Most of us get these beliefs confirmed several times per day. The result is that our consciousness gets imprinted each day with the same message. The message with the same old belief.

Meanwhile, as adults, we are not even aware that our life ‘as it happens’ is built around a belief. It becomes a profound reality that we prove to ourselves in each moment.

So how do we get out of this dilemma? We need to take a step back and look at our beliefs. Take a piece of paper and a pencil and write down all the beliefs you have around money. Don’t think too much, be spontaneous. When you have run out of your own beliefs, think about what other people’s beliefs are about money.

Then mark each belief with an ‘I’ or an ‘S’ depending if the belief is impeding or supportive. Impeding beliefs do not support creating wealth, supportive beliefs do. Now, look at your list and count each supportive and impeding belief. What is your score? How many impeding beliefs do you have, and how many supportive beliefs do you have?

Imprinting New Beliefs

Realize that all the impeding beliefs do not support the creation of fortune. Now, take a new piece of paper, and brainstorm beliefs that will exactly create the wealth you would like to have. When you are done with the list, go over each of your new beliefs and create a mental image. Hold this mental image for at least 10-20 seconds. You may need some practice, but every time you do it, you will get better with it. Do this exercise in a quiet, calm, and relaxed environment, as this will help to imprint these beliefs into your consciousness.

Remember, beliefs are the blueprint of what will manifest in your life. With a little training, you will be able to move on to the next stage, which is feeling your beliefs. Feel as if these new beliefs, that foster what you really want to create, have actually been manifested.

* How does it feel to be a millionaire?

* How does it feel to have abundance in your life?

* How does it feel to have more money than you can spend?

* How does it feel to give to others?

* How does it feel to buy without having to look at the price?

The Law of Polarity

December 26, 2007

The Law of Polarity states that nothing can exist without its opposite. If hate exists in someone, then love must exist as well. If you see low potential in someone, then high potential must also exist in that person. “Failure” in life must be accompanied by the seeds of success. If something is really awful, then the possibility must exist for it to be awesome! Further, the Law of Polarity states that, in fact, these opposites are simply different manifestations of the same thing!

When you hear successful people talk about how they got where they are, what do you hear? Do they say that they just opened their eyes one morning and success was all around them? No, their stories are full of how their failures taught them and directed them toward success.

You may have heard the story about the young man who asked the wise man, “How did you get to be so wise?”

“By making wise choices,” the wise man answered.

“How did you know they were wise choices?” the young man countered.

“Why, by experience, of course,” the old man replied.

“How did you get experience?” the young man asked.

“By making poor choices!” the wise old man exclaimed.

Knowing that every challenging experience contains the seeds of its opposite (success) makes life a constant learning experience and a great adventure.

Challenge yourself this week to find the learning or the opportunity in every single event in your life.

To your continued wealth and happiness,

Light speed.

The Decision Making Paradigm

December 19, 2007

Everyone has their own life to live.  Therefore, they need to then make their own choices to live that life.  Interestingly and despite popular belief, these choices or decisions come from our emotional patterns.  If we change our emotions, we change the decisions that we make and, consequently, our lives.

Quite frequently, people will overlook or neglect the importance of their decisions.  They take them for granted.  The real question for your life – do you make the best decisions that you possibly can?  The answer is yes.  One of the presuppositions of NLP is that everyone does the best they can with the resources that they have.  Bottom line, is that if you want more, you need to make better choices.  In order to make better choices, you need to be a better person.  In order to have a better quality of life, you will need to become more of a person – you need to grow.

Growth means different things to different people.  Some consider growth to be scary.  Some consider growth to be exciting.  What are your views of growth and how do they impact your life?

I can guarantee that you are where you are today based upon your willingness to grow.   When you grow, it does not mean that your entire life will be perfect and that you will never again have to grow.  Growth is a process and growth can be fun!  Some results from your changes will take some time.   You simply need to determine if your desired results are worth the effort to change.  Are you willing to put forth the effort now to change in order to have your life be the way that you want for it to be?

Make the choices now for the kind of life that you would like in the future.  And, if you really want that life, stick to those choices.

The Law of Gender

December 7, 2007

Many people, especially in the United States and western culture, expect and virtually demand instant results. We have become a “now” society which is good in many cases, but it should be reconsidered in many other situations. Some things simply take time to materialize and any educated perspective would comprehend this.

The principle is called the Law of Gender. The Law of Gender states that everything has a gestation period. Everything has a period of time through effort that needs to exist in order to realize the benefits of those actions. The specified time is rarely known, but it still does exist for things to manifest.

In your efforts towards success or any aim quite frankly, keep in mind, that all results have a gestation period. They all take an unknown period of time. You can not circumvent this process. The best indicator stems from the systems that we see every day in nature. Realistically, even nature has certain periods of time before a result will be noticed. Everything has a process and that process has a period of time that accompanies it.

A great example of the gestation period is that of having a baby. We all know that once a baby is conceived it is going to take about nine months for that baby to be born. It takes time for the baby to grow and for it to sufficiently mature. If the baby is born too early, it could very easily have complications (my sister just had pre-term baby boys – twins so this is a great example for me). You would think that someone is completely stupid if they got on your case about not having the baby in the first week. Can imagine what nut-job (that’s a technical term by the way) would ever say that? A baby takes time to grow to full term.

To use a different example for the gardeners in the group, if you plant pumpkin seeds, it is going to take some time for them to grow. You may not know the length of time for it to grow. You may need to look at the package where it says that it will take twelve weeks to produce fully-grown, Jack-O-Lantern sized pumpkins. Perhaps you need to simply trust the package that the information that it displays is true. Again, anyone would look silly getting upset at the plant for not producing pumpkins in the first couple of days, right?

Earlier this year, I planted pumpkins in my back yard and I wondered, how long until they produce a pumpkin. Where are they, I would ask. Even though the plants got huge with massive leaves and there was not even a sign of a little pumpkin at all. I wonder, what has to happen in order for a pumpkin to be produced? Sometimes, it is a matter of watering the seeds and pulling weeds, and allowing sufficient time for the plant to grow. Do you think that there could be a metaphor here? Simply put, it takes time, while continuing to focus using the right energy, resources, conditions, and intent to create any ultimate outcome.

This interesting phenomenon, the gestation period, creates many opportunities for us to learn and grow. If we had every result manifest right away, we would never have the need to grow. We would never have the opportunity to become the right person to have the things that which we desire because there would not be any struggles. It is very important to reframe your perspective, when appropriate, to view circumstances and struggles as being advantageous to you in the long-run.

You need to know that it takes time, an undetermined amount of time, to produce any desired result. The “how” to achieve the goal will come through effort. You must first know specifically “what” it is that you want and “why” you want it. These two factors are crucial to attaining your dreams and the time will be filled in with experiential learning opportunities along the way.

In closing, when you combine the reasons for having your outcome with the focus, intent, actions, and enough time, you are sure to manifest your desired outcomes.

Keep working in the direction of your dreams!
