Attitude

June 11, 2008

The idea of attitude is an interesting topic because the concept of attitude is elusive. Not many people understand it, nor do they know really what an “attitude” is. They don’t know what to do with their attitude, good or bad, and they certainly do not know how to change it. Truthfully, people do not know how important their attitude is and how that attitude translates into the results that they have in their lives.

As you may have heard, attitude is everything. Earl Nightingale, the pioneer in the personal development world, states that the biggest difference between winners and losers is their attitude. So what does your attitude say about you?

If you want to be a winner or even a bigger winner, what do you do? What can you do? Well change your attitude of course. Unfortunately, the statement of “changing your attitude” is like talking a foreign language to most and if someone really wants to change, they obviously need help.

Simply put, your attitude is really your psychology. No big stretch of the imagination there. Your attitude stems from your mind and how you perceive the world. This perception of the world is also called your “model of the world.”

Your “model of the world” incorporates many things. Your beliefs, values, feelings, rules, and decisions, all comprise your model of the world. A good way to understand the “model of the world” concept is that the concept is like wearing a certain pair of glasses with colored lenses. Your interpretation of the world is “skewed” based upon your “model of the world.” The interpretation will always come from your mindset of how you, or anyone, perceives the world and its happenings. If you believe that the world is a great place, you are “tuned in” to find all of the great things in life. In contrast, if you believe that a certain thing is bad, then you tend to find all of the bad things. Your interpretation always comes down to your psychology and how you interpret the world, which is your “world.”

A good question is – can you change your attitude or “model of the world?” The simple answer is “yes.” A change can be quick, made by a simple decision. Other therapeutic methods are available as well which are equally as quick, unfortuntately, we won’t get into those means here. (Additionally, one must have a driving reason why to change, otherwise their level of comfort and their desire to remain comfortable will overrule any desire to change.) Ultimately, the main point is that you can change and you, and only you, are in charge of your attitude.

The typical attitude that you keep will yield certain results. When you have a “good” attitude, good things happen to you, and it is not just your interpretation. The opposite is true as well. When you have a great attitude you will get the “benefit of the doubt” or to put it in baseball terms, “the tie goes to the runner.” You will come out more on the winning end if you have the right perspective and this is one of the keys to creating the life that you desire.

Why not positively consider all of the great things in your life? Why not take an “I can do it” attitude? Why not have a positive, results-focused, outcome-orientated, perspective and see where that attitude gets you during the next month? If you don’t like the results, you can always go back to having a “bad attitude” again, can’t you? The results for your life are your choice and they are in your hands.

As you pursue your dreams, know that you will be infinitely more successful by taking a positive approach. One of the great principles of the Universe, as you probably know by now, is the Law of Attraction. Loosely put, if you have the right attitude and the right psychology (as you make the right efforts, through Quantum Mechanics), your dreams will be attracted to you. You will find that it is easier to have your dreams come to you as you make the consistent effort to stay within the laws of the Universe, rather than erratically “stalk” your dreams because of your “they must be mine” attitude. When you master these basic principles of the Universe, your life will transform quickly and it will be magical – all because of your great, positive attitude!

Good Day!

June 10, 2008

When we meet people, our greeting immediately says a lot about who we are. When I meet people I do my best to greet that person extremely cordially and with affection. Why not make the meeting the best interaction you possibly can?

I take my good attitude wherever I may go because it is contagious. I may not always be in the best mood all of the time (because I am human), but I do stay as passionately happy as possible because I know that I can change the world one person at a time by my emotional state; as you can too.

Moreover, a great example can be found in the first part of most interactions with people. What is the most common question that nearly every one asks, yet no one really wants to know the answer? If you are like many, and you may ask this as well, people tend to ask me how I am doing. They’ll ask, “how are you doing?” Sadly, the common responses are “fine,” “good,” “ok,” and probably the worst is “not bad.” Blach! Pathetic! It is disgusting when people say such lame words – “not bad.” The funny thing here is that I didn’t ask you how you “are not,” I asked you how you are doing. That is the equivalent to introducing yourself by saying “hi, I’m not Steve.” How silly would that be? When you want to live your ideal life, make sure to use the positive and to say how you want it, specifically in this case – how you are doing. Crucially, I hope that every time you meet someone you use this time as an excuse to be feeling great, by saying “I am awesome!”

As you have probably guessed by now, language is one of the key factors to determine how you feel. If you say that you are doing great, eventually, even if you are not, you have to be doing great. This is a simple key to how emotions work. If you act as if you are feeling great, eventually you have to feel great because that is how our nervous system works. Even if things are not going so well for you in your life, why not be positive and continue as if things are great – because they are, if that is your intended outlook.

To add to the keys of feeling great emotions, smiles go a long way. In fact, smiles are also contagious. If you want to feel great, simply smile! And they are so easy to do. Aren’t you glad that you have the opportunity and can choose to smile?

Lastly, and this can apply to every area of your life, did you know that there is one single difference between intense rage and the feeling of passionate excitement? Do you know what that little difference is? You probably guessed it – it is a smile. Even if you experience intense, negative emotions, yet if you put a big cheesy grin on your face, you can not feel bad emotions! That is how our nervous system works. How great is that?!?!?

Make the choice to greet people warmly and to put a smile on other’s faces by first putting a smile on your face. A smile and a warm greeting is simple to accomplish. Go ahead, massively contribute to the planet today. If you dare, simply make a point to intentionally greet people with a big, warm smile on your face – and before you know it, you will begin to attract more great things into your life, instantly!

Believe
When anyone tells you that something is impossible what is your response? Not only your outward reaction, what are your inner thoughts? Do you accept it and go on thinking to yourself, “Yeah! It’s probably too hard too…” or “They’re right. That could never work.” Or do you just passively go on with your existence never to give it another thought?

Well listen. S T O P thinking that way. Before you achieve anything that you think may be even a little difficult, you must – repeat – YOU MUST own the belief that it is not only possible, it is probable. Then, owning that belief, ask yourself some very focused questions.

Questions:

· What do I want?

· What is the first step I should take to be one step closer to achieve what I am after?

· Who can clear up any lack of knowledge that I need to achieve this?

· What is my plan to get from Point A to Point B?

The most important objective to achieve anything on this planet (or out of this world) is to believe. Without belief there is nothing.

Become
Become what you focus on. Whether you want to or not you will become what you concentrate your efforts on. If you concentrate on achieving wealth, you will become aware of opportunities to achieve that wealth.

If you allow yourself to become consumed with bad things that happen to you, you will become a person that bad things happen to.

You need to become just like the person you want to be like. This requires reading and diving into the lives of those who have already achieved what you are striving for.

You must become a filter for what you allow in and what you push out. Do this by reading what you want to learn. Listen to audio books that support your goals. Talk with people who build up your ideas.

Just remember you will become what you want to achieve even if others say it’s impossible.

Beware
Beware of the idiots. I have a friend who has a brilliant outlook on life. He is an entrepreneur and has a lot of great ideas. Not only are they great ideas they actually make him money.

There are plenty of people who would look at him and his ideas and tear down any effort he would make at trying to achieve.

Here’s the part you need to adopt and adapt to your way of life.

To the people who tear down or do not support his ideas are automatically dismissed as idiots. Those who support him and his ideas are always geniuses. That’s a great way to win! Develop your genius tribe. Totally ignore and dismiss the idiot pool.

Now you don’t have to be so raw about it calling people idiots (although it may help). You can still apply the same principle. Beware of the nay-sayers. Embrace the encouragers. Surround yourself with geniuses. Few things will kill a million-dollar idea faster than idiots telling you it can’t work.

Be You
The last sentence “Few things will kill a million-dollar idea faster than an idiot telling you it can’t work” is SO true. Another thing that will kill a million-dollar idea faster than anything is not being yourself.

Being yourself is the most unique thing you can offer anyone. Why would you want to rob yourself of the most valuable asset you can offer?

Trying to be someone else is a nasty habit that is so transparent it turns off everyone who sees it. Don’t do it. No one likes a phony. But everyone loves those who love being themselves.

People are attracted to those who are glad to be themselves and are confident in who they are. These people understand that they are valuable being the only person they can be. Be yourself and don’t be ashamed of you.

Once you have accepted that you are valuable and are sure in who you are, you will begin to notice in a very short time that people will begin to be attracted to you. They will want to be around you and unconsciously want what you have got.

Use your YOU power. Be yourself and you  will be on your way to successful living.

Successful living isn’t easy. It’s simple but it isn’t necessarily easy. Stay tuned throughout the year for more valuable ideas and tools that will help you accomplish what others would call “The Impossible.”

Most think that they do not have a choice in life. I believe that we are conditioned to become indifferent and to simply follow a routine that someone else dictates for us. As Zig Ziglar says, “we are born to win and conditioned to lose.”

If you think about the natural progression of most people lives, our lives follow a certain path. You are born to parents who mean well, yet they are not perfect themselves, and they have their own patterns and imperfections that you unconsciously learn from them. It is difficult enough to learn and grow, especially in some environments that many people live, much less to have to deal with the added troubles that are thrust upon any individual by outside forces. Growth can be a daunting task at times.

At some point in our lives we start our education. We enter into a system that is run by imperfect people with their own emotional patterns and challenges. They have their own belief systems on how things ought to be. Whether they are right or wrong, the systems and the patterns of the people in the system are a significant dynamic. We spend 20,000 hours learning in an institution that recycles the same “people” – the teachers teach in the same system in which they were taught in the first place. No one ever questions the sensibility of this concept and they continue to teach things the “same ole things,” whether they were correct or not. The system is a system and that is what a system does; it keeps going without need for thought. All in all, we have been taught many things that are inaccurate or just flat out wrong, and you need to determine what those things are.

Then, we go to college because we have been told that the key to financial freedom is to get good grades, to get a diploma, go to work for a company and they will take care of us until we retire. How many of you have realized that this is not necessarily true? How many know of someone who has been laid off or fired? Where are the people who have been with a company for 40 years anymore? How many of you have realized that jobs don’t necessarily take care of people because companies must maximize profits and cut costs?

Things are supposed to change in the work world. For those who get jobs, they realize that things are not too far off from the same system that existed when they were younger, except they have the privilege of needing to exceed expectations or they get fired. Additionally, you tend to do all of the work compared to your coworkers and you know more than your ridiculous boss. And as a nice gesture, the company will pay you enough to stay, but not enough to live the life of your dreams. Then to reward your hard work, they let you take off most Saturdays, Sundays, and have two weeks off per year. Apparently, this is now the American dream – to get by?

Eventually, you work towards the golden years of retirement. You then have to live off of less than half of what you couldn’t afford to live off of in the first place. At this point, it is too late to do anything about your situation.

The point of all this is to say three very simple things are a major epidemic in our society. First, people are so busy that they never stop to think about what they want to do with their life. Second, they never put together a plan for their ideal life happen. Lastly, they don’t have the time to execute the plan (that they didn’t make in the first place) to make their dream become a reality. People just burn their lives away with the “get up, go to work, go home, go to bed, wake up, go to work, go home, go to bed,” hectic schedule as I like to call it. Unless you are completely thrilled with your current life and you never want anything to be better or different (and actually if you don’t make the effort to further yourself, you will tend to slide backwards), you need to step up and determine what you want for your life.

Since you have read this far and already invested a few minutes, it will not hurt you to spend one more minute on this topic. Do yourself a favor and ask yourself the following questions, if you could choose your ideal life, what would it be? How would you structure it? Write down a few sentences that grabs your attention. Make your outline your 2 minute masterpiece – the masterpiece for your life!

As you continue to focus on what you want, you are much more likely to attract that life into your existence. A simple plan is a glorious beginning! Furthermore, find resources that will help you. And lastly, remember, do the one thing that will separate you from everyone else in this world – choose!

From Matrix III – Revolutions:

Agent Smith: “…why must you persist?”

Neo: “…because I choose to….”

When?

June 6, 2008

I sometimes wonder when certain things are going to happen in my life. We all can get impatient at times, but I simply think that I have really set the “impatient standard” at times with my expectation of certain things to come. This most certainly has been the case in the past in my life.

In my life, I frequently wondered when certain things were going to happen. I wondered – when am I going to be healthy, when am I going to be rich, when will I be out of debt, when will I just be able to pay my bills, when will I lose this weight, and so on. I always wondered when they were going to happen. I later learned that I was in complete control of the results in my life. I was and am, just like you, completely in charge of my happenings, including how I feel (but we won’t get into that in this post). When I realized that I had the ability to influence my life and the outcomes of my life, I had to learn how to make the changes. I then learned how to make the changes and my life has never been the same.

Growth and learning has been the key, initially. I have learned many things from all of the training that I have done and I have learned quite a bit from the teaching and coaching that I have done. Now my life is quite different, now that I have the comprehension of certain laws and principles, which I can thank for my advancement.

One of the laws that completely changed my life is the Law of Attraction. You may or may not have heard of this law, but know that it is tried, true and proven based upon science experimentation and studies, specifically Quantum Physics. The Law of Attraction is a sub-law, if there is such a thing, of the Law of Vibration.

As you may have learned, everything in this Universe is made of energy – this is where the Law of Vibration comes in. The Law of Vibration basically is the exact same thing – that everything is every and everything that is energy vibrates. That is the basics of the Law of Vibration.

To take the Law of Vibration to a new level, there are other particulars to know in order to manifest that which you want in your life. Interestingly, the world is created is by a consciousness or an observer. Science has proven that in order to turn the energy (the realm of the spirit world) into matter, it has to be observed to collapse the “wave function” (per the Coppenhagen Interpretation with Neils Bohr and Albert Einstein that the energy waves collapse into matter when observed). Furthermore, as the wave function is collapsed through the conscious observation, as one vibrates at that level of energy, it attracts more like energy (the Law of Attraction) until it is collapsed into the material manifestation of the desired outcome. Ultimately, the right energy with the conscious intention, coupled with enough time equals that which is desired to be manifest. There are other small factors that go into the equation that need to be done in a certain way, but the basics are that simple equation.

In my life, I have used these laws and principles to create some incredible results, sometimes intentionally and other times unconsciously. I have used these principles in a myriad of ways including to manifest a place to live, a free cup of Starbucks, a movie, to a significant other, the purchase of a new home, and even to winning a new mountain bike and a Ford Mustang. Ultimately, we always use these laws and principles to get that which we want, perhaps now is the time to intentionally use the laws and principles to get what you want instead of manifesting “on accident.”

Back to my idea of “when.” Know that things do take some time to materialize and no one really knows how long it really does take. I believe that “spontaneous materialization” can happen, to be honest with you, but I haven’t figured it out yet. I have hope, but for now, I will be grateful that I manifest the things that I want in time, and not be a spoiled brat because they do not happen instantly. Now my life is about enjoying everything that I have because once I get some great new thing, I create a new outcome that I would like so that there is always something great on the horizon for me and for you.

As I have continued to say, be grateful (and feel the emotions of gratitude) for what you have and what you want (as if you have already received them), and if you do these things you too can get anything that you can dream. You simply have to be willing to do the actions and stay focused on the outcome, while living at the highest level of positive vibration. This is truly a science and you too can live your life with the great things that you want for yourself.

Basically, stop asking, like I did, when will I have certain things and rather pay attention to this question, “when will you use the Law of Attraction to have the life of your dreams?” And then ask, “why not start now?”

I was thinking about this concept one day and it made sense to me – life is like a marathon. I take this perspective because of the many experiences in my life, some good and some bad. But all of my experiences have created my life, and I cherish those experiences because it is my life and I am where I am for a reason.

A marathon is very simple in its concept. You have an easy outcome, you know how far you need to go, and all you need to do is run in the right direction long enough and eventually you end up at the end – victorious! It’s really not all that easy to accomplish for the average person though.

Let’s think about it. Driving 26 miles in a car is a good effort, but it is not that far. In fact, you can drive 26 miles in a car on the highway in less than half an hour. 26 miles on a bike is a good effort, but you can easily accomplish it in less than a couple of hours at a nice easy pace. Running a marathon, that is quite different, and it takes a different perspective.

My belief is that everyone can finish a marathon. It may take you more time and different strategies to accomplish depending on your abilities. Ultimately, it is possible to go that distance. Simply know, that you too can accomplish 26 miles if you did it right and gave yourself enough time.

Truthfully, the distance is long, no matter who you are. The average person, assuming 12 – 15 minute miles would finish in 5 to 6 hours. This does not include the blisters from your shoes, the ache in your back, the sore knees from the jarring on the road, the chemical and nutrient imbalance in your body, amongst other challenges.

The challenges is in interesting point. Let’s face it, challenges do arise, just like my knee situation when I trained for the Chicago Marathon in 2006. What I learned like in many situations in my life is that when you are not able to get the result one way, you need to change your approach. Success and completing a marathon is a science – they take effort and time – as you know, life does take effort and a certain amount of time to see that outcomes as well.

When you have a goal or, hopefully more meaningful, an outcome, your efforts will not always produce the results that you want right away. You may be the best at what you do, however challenges in life arise that cause you to adjust to the circumstances. Thankfully, we as human beings are capable of adapting to situations in order to achieve our desired result. You are truly blessed with incredible capabilities; many times it is the psychology and the strategies that you use to adapt to and overcome the obstacles.

To focus on you, on your journey, you may need to reconsider some factors. Perhaps you need to get a part-time job? Maybe you need to sell something that you don’t want to? Maybe you need to do something that you don’t want to do? Or perhaps you need to stop doing something instead? Maybe you need to work harder or continue on the same path for a longer period of time? Perhaps you need to change your perspective? Perhaps you have miscalculated and set yourself up for failure by having an unrealistic outcome for the period that you have allocated? Could you be better trained? Do you need to attend a seminar, read a book, or take a class? Sometimes you need to end a relationship or start a new one. Maybe you feel that you need to start your own business, which will bring you to the glorious heights that you desire. What in your life is a “leap of faith” that you either need to consider or actually take? What might you need to do in order to change your current approach to eventually produce the results that you want?

Remember, you are the one in control of your life and you determine your outcome. Do you step up to the “race of your life?” Do you even get in the “race” in the first place? Maybe even just starting the “race,” no matter what the outcome, is a win for you? Are you alright with not winning, but rather finishing? You need to determine some things for yourself and take charge in your life.

As you have most certainly heard the expression from a speaker or from a presentation in your life – a person tends to overestimate what they can do in a year and they underestimate what they can do in three years. In fact, most never even give themselves a year and they quit after two months because they didn’t get the results. The reason that you didn’t give the results is that you didn’t do what it takes in order to get the results, and many times that means that you need to work long enough until you get the outcome!

Did you know that there are tribes who still believe in rain dances? And I believe that rain dances work too. You might think that is foolish, and that is illogical. The truth is, rain dances really work! There is a secret though… and here it is… the tribe dances UNTIL it rains! The continue to make the effort out of faith UNTIL they achieve their outcome!

What if you continued to “dance” with the circumstances of your life UNTIL you get the result? Where would your life be then?

Here are some things to consider. If you need to, get a coach. Model someone who has been successful at what you are attempting to accomplish. Continuously work in the direction of the achievement of that aim, just like a marathon runner works towards the finish line; a little bit at a time. And then, one day, after all of that effort, after all that hard work, you too will cross the finish line; the finish line in your life – tired, but VICTORIOUS!

Remember, life is a marathon, not a sprint!
