Wake Up From “The Nightmare”

February 24, 2009

The phrase “wake up from the nightmare” has been used by or is known by nearly everyone. This overused phrase has been used for many of life’s circumstances. People might refer to a nightmare as a state of their life, the economy, their job, their relationships, about their finances, or about a myriad of things.

First of all, let’s consider a nightmare. A nightmare is a series of delusions of the mind that are constructed and interpreted to be real. These factors are obviously delusions of the individual’s mind, moreover, one creates the manifestations of a nightmare by initially creating an emotional attachment due to the mind’s original interpretation. Remember, even though these delusions appear to be real, everyone knows that nightmares, or dreams in general, are simply a creation of the mind.

Next, remember when one wakes up, they enter back into the “real world”. Here in the “real world,” the truth is, again, a matter of perceptions of what is occurring. If someone cuts you off in traffic and you get upset, you are the one who is upset. If you lose a job, you are the one who decides how to react and feel about that situation. Truthfully, you create your world based upon your interpretations; therefore, you must carefully choose your meanings.

In order to change your life, you must begin to change your perception of what is happening to you. To create the change you want, wake up from your current reality to understand how things really are, change your perceptions of the factors in your life, then rewire and get past the patterns that hold you back. Remember, you are in control of your life and your life will begin to take on a different meaning when you take the first step, and wake up!
